Description:   This Shivastalam  is located at a distance of 11 km from Tiruvallur near Chennai. The original site of the temple is now submerged under the Poondy reservoir and the deities are housed in a temple on its shores. This is the 17th of the 32 Tevara Stalams in the Tondai region of South India.

Sundaramoorthy Nayanar who had lost his eyesight was blessed with a pole to aid him walk, here. On his way to Kanchipuram, Parvati appeared in the form of lightning, every now and then, hence the name Minnaloliammai. The Pushpagireeswarar temple located nearby, celebrates Arudra Darisanam each year.
