Featured today, are four Shakti shrines on India's West Coast, two in Karnataka and two in Kerala.

Sringeri is a well known pilgrimage site in Karnataka. The original image of Saradamba is said to have been installed by Aadi Sankaracharya in the 1st millennium CE.

The Bhagawati temple at Kodungallur in Kerala is an ancient one, enshrining Kali - also believed to be a manifestation of Kannagi of the celebrated Tamil epic Silappadikaram.

Mookambika - Kollur: Situated in the picturesque Western Ghat region, rich in legend and tradition, this temple at Kollur is closely associated with Adi Sankaracharya and is held in great reverence.

he Bhagawati temple at Chotanikkara in Kerala is a well visited temple, enshrining Rajarajeswari a manifestation of Mahakali, Maha Saraswati and Mahalakshmi.
