This is the 3rd of the 22 Tevara Stalams in the Nadu Naadu
region of Tamilnadu. Legends: Shiva is said
to have intercepted Sundarar's path and asked him to go to Vriddachalam via this town,
originally situated in between Manimuthar and Vellaru.
Festivals: Four worship services are offered each day here; the annual
bhramotsavam is celebrated in the month of Masi with vahanams & palanquins carrying
the festival deities in procession. Other festivals include Navaratri, Thai Poosam &
Arudra Darisanam. |
