Suryanar Temple at Suryanar Koil near Kumbakonam

Deities: Surya and the other celestial bodies, Shiva, Parvati, Ganapati

This is a one of a kind temple dedicated to the Sun God and it also houses shrines to each of the other eight celestial bodies - the Nava Grahams. It was built by the Chola kings and is located near Tirumangalakkudi, another ancient Shiva temple, near Kumbakonam.
