Kamakshi Amman Temple at Kanchipuram near Madras

Deities: Kamakshi Amman (Parvati Devi)

This is an ancient and well visited temple. Adi Sankara the venerated religious leader and philosopher is associated with this temple. Parvati is worshipped as Kamakshi here. There is also a shrine dedicated to the Varaaha Avataram of Vishnu in this beautiful temple complex. This shrine has been celebrated by one of the great Alwar Saints.
